Download Firefox

Well I felt it would only be right for me to create a page in honor of the browser that I’ve used to build this entire site :).  Firefox is an open source internet browser from Mozilla which is rivaling the pre-packaged Internet Explorer (IE) browser.  Using this browser and the opensource software WordPress I have created this blog from scratch.  For those still using IE6, Firefox allows for tabbed browsing that makes surfing the web far easier than opening new windows every time you want to have a new page open.  It is also more secure than Microsoft’s IE 7 due to the OS nature of the browser.  It has established a cult following and those that primarily use Firefox rarely go back to using Internet Explorer except for when it is necessary such as service pack updates for Windows users.

It can be used on any platform: Mac, Windows, or Linux.  This makes it an extremely versatile browser that has universal appeal.  One of the most popular add-ons for the browser is the Google toolbar which I absolutely love.  It allows me to bookmark pages via my account so that my bookmarks stay with my toolbar (and therefore apply to every single computer that I use since it is not stored locally).  I also use the PageRank functionality as a measure of the popularity of my website (an obsession that most webmasters have, whether they admit it or not).  Most of all it gives me an extraordinary po-up blocker, I haven’t run into a pop-up advertisement that gets around this toolbar yet.

Do yourself a favor and at least give FF a try, I find it especially useful for when I have sparetime to also grab the StumbleUpon toolbar, a great web 2.0 site that allows you to visit cool sites based on your preferences.  If you like a site it gets a thumbs up, if not, thumbs down.

I stuck a banner to download Firefox with the Google toolbar below and start browsing far faster and more securely, enjoy!
